Destiny, The Path Within

Destiny and Fate are often used interchangeably but they’re actually at opposite ends of the spectrum, like Love and Fear. The opposite of Love isn’t hate, it’s Fear. Love is light, while Fear creates a dark and distorted reality. Love vanquishes Fear, the same way that light vanquishes darkness.

Due to the domestication process at work in society, it can be complicated to know when you’re making a decision from a place of Fear or a place of Love. You have a unique Destiny and your mission is to discover it and pursue it, to the ends of the earth. Pursue your Destiny with unwavering commitment and certainty. Burn the the bridges behind you, so you have no recourse but your Destiny; your “Hero’s Journey.”

Fear Not

Whatever you Fear most will be waiting for you around the next turn, on your journey; stunting your growth, robbing you of your creativity and blocking your personal evolution. Fear and fate construct a karmic roadblock between you and your Destiny. You become trapped by a set of rigid belief structures and thought patterns that steal your joy and put you on a path with fate rather than Destiny. Fate and Fear are subject to events beyond your control. Let go of the Fear that you are not good enough or young enough or thin enough to manifest your Dream; to achieve your Destiny.

Your mind is the battlefield where Fear and Love collide. Love is truth. Fear is illusion. Your ego is the voice of Fear, your Soul the voice of Love. Once you’re on the path towards your Destiny, the ego will follow along, quieting down and allowing you to hear the truth of your Soul. To live in accordance with your Destiny is to have a conscious, co-creative relationship with Spirit; in alignment with the cosmic order and the laws of nature.

The voice of your ego identifies with external elements, urging you to stay in one unhappy situation or another due to the Fear of an illusory outcome. The voice of your ego is harsh, erratic and filled with emotion. As you shift from a fatalistic relationship to a conscious relationship, you begin to identify with the player, instead of the pieces; in the cosmic game of life.

Soul Voice

The voice of the Soul is an internal voice. The answers which you seek already live within. The voice of your Soul is gentle, calm and clear; instinctive and undeniable. The Soul is uninterested in status, it has a unique path to follow and is not concerned with how others perceive it. The choices it makes do not always align with the outside world. The Soul knows the way and doesn’t rely on the directions of others.

If the voice in your mind is fearful or aggressive; critical or self-deprecating you can be assured it’s the ego talking. Your Soul is relaxed and expansive, your breathing, slow, deep and steady, not the quick shallow breath of fear. The ego is there for safety and security but safety and security are illusions.

The ego’s not bad, it’s just trapped in a primal state of survival; at odds with the expansive and all inclusive nature of your Soul. The ego is always jumping ahead to the future, worried and fearful about this or that outcome.

Winter is often considered as a time of cold and darkness. You look around at the grass and the trees and everything appears gloomy and dead. But that’s not the case at all. They have shifted their focus inward to the deep warmth of Mother Earth. Their roots renewing and rejuvenating, preparing for the productivity of Spring. Let nature be your guide. Use the Winter to renew your soul; your connection to Spirit. Look inward to the light and warmth that reside there.

Winter of Bliss-Content

Winter is the perfect time to focus on spiritual growth. Turn off the TeeVee and the Telephone. Meditate, read, write, pray, do breath work or learn a new skill.  All of the spiritual traditions suggest listening for that wee small voice that you can only hear when you shut off the noise of the external and listen intently. The calm, quiet voice of your soul. The part of you that’s connected to everything that is.

Discover what brings you Joy and Bliss. Use the Winter for renewal, like the herbs and the trees. Vanquish Fear and fate; prepare yourself to Spring forth on the path that leads to your Destiny and fearlessly follow it to the ends of the earth.
