The April moon is named “Pink Moon” after an early spring wildflower, the creeping phlox. The images were captured an hour after apogee, which happened on April 13, 2025, at 6:49 p.m. EDT. Apogee is the point where the Moon is farthest from Earth. When the full Moon is near apogee, it’s classified as a “micro-moon.” It appears slightly smaller and dimmer than usual, the opposite of a super-moon.
