Sonnet #8 – Seasons

Listen to “Sonnet #8 – Winter”
All the leaves, leave the trees, in November.
Desperate, bare branches, clawing the sky.
The temperature dives and the snowflakes fly.
Bringing the cold, dark days of December.
The sun migrates south, along with the geese.
The Winter wind, a demonic howling.
Like a fierce white wolf, hungrily prowling.
Then Christmas, wonderful season of peace.
The New Year. A cold, cold January.
Bright, white snow, falls without making a sound.
Blowing, drifting and covering the ground.
The Snow moon glistens in February.
Winter whiteness is followed by bright Spring.
The sun returns, colorful flowers sing.
