Free Donuts

Jared Polis is at it again. The Colorado Vaccine Lottery is history but I guess there’s a few dollars left in the kitty, so the new campaign is to give out $100 dollar gift cards to Walmart. The more children you bring into the vaccine stations, the more gift cards we will give you, inferred Polis at a recent press conference.

Why gift cards to Walmart? One of the largest corporations in the Great Wide World, who are in direct competition with the small business owners that have already been devastated by the ridiculous rules instituted by the state over the last 18 months in an attempt to control the travesty of COVID-19. Why is Polis supporting a global corporation and hanging local Colorado businesses out to dry?

I have witnessed the destruction that Walmart has wrought to small and medium size communities across the high plains, even before COVID and it’s not pretty. Local downtown stores shuttered and all the folks forced to shop at the giant Walmart store out on the edge of town. The shelves filled with all the wonderful products manufactured by the slave labor of Industrialized China. Does Walmart really need the help of Polis to drive a stake through the heart of the remaining small business owners?

Polis said that you need to get your dose as soon as possible, so you can get your $100 Walmart card, while supplies last. It’s like a late night TV commercial. He said 71% of adults across the state have received at least one dose, but that vaccinations for kids are still only in the 40-50% range. So in an attempt to get as many minors as possible jabbed with the life saving vaccine, another giant corporation, Amazon is partnering with, the Colorado Community College System and Foundation for Colorado Community Colleges. They are offering scholarships to randomly selected students who have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

It’s interesting that politicians, mega-corporations and big money media seem to be on a tireless quest to promote people taking the experimental coronavirus vaccine no matter what. Even when recent data from Israel, where shots were given widely and early, indicate that whatever effectiveness the shots may have in countering coronavirus appears to wear off pretty quickly.

The dose of choice in Israel was Pfizer and folks vaccinated before late February are twice as likely to catch the coronavirus than more recently dosed Israelis.” The government’s Health Ministry released information on Thursday showing, people vaccinated in January, have just 16% protection from COVID, while those vaccinated in April was much higher at 75%.

Personally, I am aghast at the lengths they are going to in this campaign. You can even get a free Krispy Kreme donut once a month. All you have to do is show your innoculation card. No other purchase required. I don’t eat donuts and I don’t shop at Walmart. I don’t get flu shots and based on what I am witnessing in this “get jabbed or else” campaign, getting innoculated against the COVID travesty, is officially on the “things I don’t do list.”
