The Great Divide

The United States has become increasingly polarized. The Left hellbent on making sure the racist, sexist Nazi dictator Donald Trump is removed from office and the Right determined to Save America from becoming a liberal Marxist regime. The divide has gotten so deep and so extreme that families can’t even get together for the holidays without a conversational blowup. It has become a Crusade between Good and Evil. Both sides believing – “I’m good. You’re evil.”

Almost all Fox watchers are Red and almost all MSNBC watchers are blue and since neither side watches the other sides slanted rhetoric, they are only aware of the constantly repeated story line in their own echo chamber. Conservatives flooded with details of voter fraud and how the Dems have attempted to steal the election and Liberals screaming at the top of their lungs that Trump needs to step aside and vacate the White House having been beaten fairly and squarely.

America has not been this divided since 1861, at the beginning of the Civil War, when Brigadier General P. G. T. Beauregard ordered his batteries in Charleston harbor to fire on the besieged Union garrison of Fort Sumter. How did we get here? What will be the outcome? 

If the courts rule against the orange Nazi dictator, it will enrage an already angry Red team, refusing to relinquish the White House and defending it against the commie, pinko mob. If the courts rule in favor of Trump, that decision will cause nationwide riots, intent on destroying the evil dictator. It seems like a confrontation is unavoidable. Perhaps this was the plan all along – terrorize the populace, so they beg the federal government to bring in the troops. To contain the Blue Antifa and BLM mob or quell the Red militias.

In either event, the other team will cry for a police state and the government will be happy to oblige. Martial law declared as a “temporary measure” until normalcy is returned, but we see how that has worked out with COVID-19. We have to go back a generation to the Great Depression before we find a year even close to what has manifested in 2020. Normalcy is not coming back around anytime soon – sorry.

I remember when I was growing up. The media was pretty much neutral and benign. Walter Cronkite Jr. was the man. Anchorman that is, for CBS Evening News for 19 years, he was often cited as “the most trusted man in America.” Presently four mega-corps own every news network and some of them own both the red and the blue networks, television, newspapers and radio. Seems like a conflict of interest if indeed the mission was to offer neutral, benign, impartial and unbiased reporting, like Cronkite. 

It seems to me that the media’s mission in 2020 is to create strife. To pit one half of the electorate against the other half. The Red team against the Blue team. The more division and strife that they can create, the more justified they are in locking down the entire country under martial law. This is not some crazy conspiracy theory folks. This is exactly the methodology used in Hitler’s Germany, Mao’s China and Stalin’s Russia. Once martial law is in place all meaningful protest ends – it’s off to the Gulag for you, if you even think about voicing your opinion.

Each of the above totalitarian regimes started with the populace being whipped into a frenzy of hatred and violence, pitting one side against another, exactly like what we are seeing presently in the U.S. The objective though was not about right or wrong, good and evil. The objective was the subjugation of the populace. The entire populace – the blue team and the red team.

Why is it so difficult for us to learn from our previous mistakes? Why do we continue the insanity? They are attempting to program us to blindly follow the same insane path that doomed hundreds of millions of people. It’s not too late folks. We need to stand back, take a deep breath and ask ourselves, are we being conned into our own subjugation – again? Maybe it’s time to turn off the TV, the social media and sit down over a beer, a taco or a coffee, with someone from the other team, your brother perhaps. Objectivity is the only thing that will save us.
