Sam Bush was one of the first to take Bluegrass in a new direction, blending reggae rhythms and creating the jam band vibe that is flourishing to this day. I still have albums of New Grass Revival from the early 70’s. They first played Telluride in 75 with Leon Russell and Sam became so popular there they christened him, the “King of Telluride.” Besides Russell he backed Emmy Lou Harris for a number of years. He is an incredibly talented and long lasting muscian. One of my favorites. This show is top notch – have a listen.
