Here’s a classic show from over a half century ago. The show is an excellent soundboard recording from the venue known as “The Church of Rock and Roll.” Fillmore East only existed for a short period of time in the grand scheme of things; March 1968 – June 1971. The acoustics were exceptional though and they featured almost every top act during the heyday of Rock & Roll. I was just about to have my twelfth birthday when NRPS was performing this show.

I wasn’t a fan yet but in the years to come that changed. By the time I started listening to them a few years later, Jerry Garcia had moved on to other projects and was replaced by Buddy Cage on the Peddle Steel. One of the reasons I like this show is that it features Jerry and he sounds really good. This is a two set show, so we’ll feature the first set this week and set #2 next week. Enjoy.
