Sonnet #7 – When Death Comes Knocking

Listen to “When Death Comes Knocking”
Death is always with you, riding shotgun.
Waiting in the darkness, just out of sight.
In the dead of night and the dawns first light.
Death is the only constant companion.
There when you dream and there when you're awake.
Invisible, always just out of view.
Staying with you until your days are through.
Your soul is what Death is waiting to take.
Finally alone, it’s you, Death and God.
The cycle of Death and Life is not flawed.
Death’s not your enemy, Death is your friend.
It's the beginning, it is not the end.
Joy, love and laughter. That’s what life is for.
Grinning, when Death comes knocking at your door.
