Mike Doughty City Winery New York, NY USA July, 31st, 2013
Mike Doughty is an interesting story and a musical talent. He started the band “Soul Coughing” in 1992 and released 3 critically accaimed albums before breaking up and going solo around 2000. He was dropped by Warner Brothers due to various addictions but rebuilt his musical career and wrote a book about it in 2012, “The Book of Drugs.” This show is from just after the book was released, around the time he produced a crowd-funded album of Soul Coughing songs. He played a bunch of them at this show. It’s an excellent soundboard recording and well worth a listen. Enjoy!
