Sonnet #4 – Storm

Listen to Sonnet #4 – Storm
Bright, white lightning ripped the sky asunder.
Angry wind, blowing a powerful storm.
A boom, crack, boom, of ear splitting thunder.
Mean weather, hellbent to wreck and transform.
Fear filled my mind. The storm was frightening.
Bright white, then black night, the contrast, so stark.
My heart was pounding, my throat tightening.
A storm with a soul, so evil and dark.
I want to run but there’s nowhere to hide.
It’s everywhere at once, in the dark night.
Then, the angry storm calmed, the thunder died.
Dark clouds departed, replaced by moonlight.
All bad storms pass, when you focus on peace.
Faith makes possible, the fear to release.
